(Rekognition) |
| MongoDB, Inc. (MongoDB Atlas) | 데이터베이스 호스팅 및 이용자 데이터 저장 |
| Google LLC (Gmail / Google Workspace) | 거래 및 계정 관련 이메일 발송(예: 비밀번호 재설정) |
| Expo (Expo Application Services / 650 Industries, Inc.) | 푸시 알림 전달 |
| RevenueCat, Inc. |

Tokjam — Privacy Policy
Effective date: October 17, 2026 · Last updated: October 10, 2026
1. Introduction
This Privacy Policy explains how Tokjam, a sole proprietorship owned and operated by AN HYEON KI (안현기) and registered in the Republic of Korea ("Tokjam", "we", "us"), collects, uses, shares, and protects personal information when you use Tokjam, our short-form video platform — available as a mobile app and as a website — that lets you upload, store, view, save, and share videos and photos (the "Service"). You can reach us about privacy at contact@tokjam.net.
This policy has a common section that applies to everyone (Sections 1–9 and 16–17) and region-specific sections that add to it: Children (Section 10), EU/EEA & UK – GDPR (Section 11), California – CCPA/CPRA (Section 12), Other U.S. States (Section 13), Other Regions (Section 14), and Republic of Korea – PIPA (Section 15). Where a region-specific section conflicts with the common section, the region-specific section controls for residents of that region.
2. Information We Collect
A. Information you provide.
• Account data: email address and password (required to register and sign in).
• Date of birth: the date of birth you select at registration, which we collect and use to confirm that you meet our minimum age requirement and to enforce age-based restrictions.
• Device age signal (age verification): at registration we may request an age-range signal from your device's operating system — Apple's Declared Age Range (iOS) or Google Play's age signals (Android) — to help confirm that you meet our minimum age requirement and to detect attempts to circumvent it. This signal is provided by your Apple or Google account and indicates only a coarse age range (for example, whether you are above or below our minimum age), not your exact age or date of birth. We use it solely at sign-up to allow or block account creation, and we do not store, log, or share this signal. Where your device or account does not support this signal, we rely on the date of birth you provide.
• Profile data: any display name, username, bio, or profile photo you choose to add.
• User content: the videos, photos, audio, captions, and other content you upload, and associated metadata.
• Communications: information you provide when you contact support or submit reports.
• Copyright reports: if you submit or are the subject of a copyright-infringement report, we may collect a name, email, phone number, copyright registration details, and licensing/authorization records to verify rights.
• Payment data: if you make purchases, billing is processed by the relevant app store or payment processor. We receive limited transaction data (such as that a purchase occurred) but do not collect or store your full payment card number.
B. Information collected automatically.
• Device & technical data: device model, operating system, unique device identifiers, app version, language, and settings.
• Usage data: content you view, save, and interact with; session and activity logs; search terms; and feature usage.
• Push notification token: if you enable notifications, a device push token used to deliver notifications.
• Device identifiers, cookies & local storage: we use limited device identifiers, browser cookies, and on-device storage needed to operate the Service, such as keeping you signed in and remembering preferences (see Section 7). We do not currently use third-party advertising or analytics SDKs or tools (such as Google Analytics).
We do not intentionally collect special-category/sensitive data unless you voluntarily include it in your content.
3. Why We Use Your Information (Purposes)
We use personal information to:
• create and manage your Account and authenticate you;
• provide, operate, and maintain the Service, including hosting, transcoding, playback, saving, and sharing of content;
• provide automated content recommendations that suggest content based on your viewing activity, saved content, interactions, and engagement signals;
• prevent fraud, abuse, and unauthorized use, and enforce our Terms and policies, including using automated tools to help detect prohibited or harmful content;
• handle reports, including copyright and content moderation, and respond to legal requests;
• send you transactional and account-related messages, such as password resets and push notifications you enable;
• analyze and improve performance, features, and reliability; and
• communicate with you about the Service, including service and security notices.
We do not currently use your personal information for third-party advertising. If we introduce advertising in the future, we will update this policy and provide advance notice, and where required by law we will obtain your prior consent, before doing so. The legal bases we rely on (where GDPR/UK GDPR applies) are described in Section 11.
4. Retention
We keep personal information only as long as necessary for the purposes described in this policy, including:
• Account data: until your Account is closed or the purpose is fulfilled, after which it is securely deleted or irreversibly anonymized within a reasonable period.
• Deletion requests: when you request deletion, we review and process the request and delete the relevant data from active systems (we aim to complete this within a reasonable timeframe, ordinarily within 30 days for in-scope data, subject to backups and legal holds).
• Legal/compliance retention: where law requires us to retain certain records (for example, transaction, tax, or dispute records), we retain them for the period required by the applicable law of the relevant jurisdiction, then delete them.
• Backups: residual copies in backups are deleted on our standard backup cycle.
5. How We Share Information
We do not sell your personal information for money. We share information only as described here:
• Service providers / processors who host and operate the Service on our behalf (see Section 6), under contracts that limit their use of the data.
• Other users, to the extent your profile and content are public or are saved/re-shared through Service features.
• Legal and safety: to comply with law, respond to lawful requests, enforce our Terms, protect rights, safety, and property, and detect or prevent fraud or abuse. We report child sexual abuse material to the appropriate authorities and reporting bodies.
• Copyright matters: we may disclose information necessary to investigate and resolve copyright-infringement claims and to comply with applicable copyright laws, including the DMCA.
• Business transfers: in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, subject to this policy.
6. Service Providers (Subprocessors) & International Transfers
We use trusted providers to deliver the Service, including:
| Provider | Purpose |
|---|
| Amazon Web Services, Inc. (AWS) | Cloud storage (S3), video transcoding (MediaConvert), and automated content analysis/moderation (Rekognition) |
| MongoDB, Inc. (MongoDB Atlas) | Database hosting and storage of user data |
| Google LLC (Gmail / Google Workspace) | Sending transactional and account-related emails (e.g., password resets) |
| Expo (Expo Application Services / 650 Industries, Inc.) | Push notification delivery |
| RevenueCat, Inc. | Verifying in-app purchases and managing subscription status |
Our cloud storage and video processing (AWS) and our database (MongoDB Atlas) run in the Republic of Korea (Seoul, ap-northeast-2) region, so your account data and the videos and photos you upload are stored in the Republic of Korea. However, these providers are companies incorporated in the United States, and their personnel may access the infrastructure remotely from outside Korea for technical support and maintenance; in addition, transactional email delivery (Google), push notification delivery (Expo), and in-app purchase verification (RevenueCat) are processed in the United States. When we transfer personal data internationally, we use appropriate safeguards required by law (for example, the EU Standard Contractual Clauses and, where relevant, the UK Addendum), and we apply security measures described in Section 8. A current list of subprocessors can be requested at contact@tokjam.net.
7. Device Identifiers & Tracking Choices
Tokjam is available as a mobile app and a website. We use only limited, essential technologies — such as on-device storage, device identifiers, and browser cookies, including an essential session cookie used to keep you signed in — needed to operate the Service (for example, to keep you signed in, remember your preferences, and maintain security). We do not currently use Google Analytics or any third-party advertising or analytics SDK or tool, do not currently serve advertising, and do not currently use your information for cross-context behavioral advertising or to track you across other apps or websites. If we introduce advertising or third-party analytics in the future, we will update this policy and provide advance notice, and where required by law we will obtain your prior consent (for example, through iOS App Tracking Transparency in the app, or a cookie-consent banner on the website).
Your device and browser also offer controls for advertising identifiers, tracking, and cookies (for example, iOS App Tracking Transparency, Android's advertising-ID controls, and your browser's cookie settings). Because we use only essential cookies and do not currently track you for advertising, these settings have limited effect on the Service today; note that blocking the essential session cookie in your browser may prevent you from staying signed in. You may use these controls at any time.
8. How We Protect Information
We maintain administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information, including:
• Encryption in transit using transport-layer encryption so data is protected as it travels over the internet;
• Encryption at rest for stored data;
• Access controls and authentication, so only authorized personnel and systems can access personal data on a need-to-know basis; and
• Secure hosting environments with ongoing monitoring and protective measures.
No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. If a data breach affecting your personal information occurs, we will notify you and the competent authorities where and as required by applicable law.
9. Your Choices & Rights (All Users)
Regardless of where you live, you can:
• access and update your profile and Account information;
• delete your content, or delete your Account and associated personal data directly within the app, without contacting support (account deletion is available in the app's settings), subject to limited exceptions for data we must retain by law;
• request access to or deletion of your personal data by contacting contact@tokjam.net; and
• opt out of non-essential marketing communications.
Additional rights for specific regions are described in Sections 10–14. You may exercise rights through an authorized agent where permitted by applicable law. We will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.
10. Children's & Minors' Privacy
The Service requires a minimum age of 16 (higher where local law requires) and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under the applicable minimum age.
• Minimum age 16: We do not knowingly allow, or collect personal information from, users under 16. If we learn that we have collected personal information from a user under the applicable minimum age without required consent, we will delete it and close the Account.
• Age assurance signals: In addition to the date of birth you provide, where your device supports it we use operating-system age signals — Apple's Declared Age Range (iOS) and Google Play's age signals (Android) — at registration as an additional measure to identify and prevent under-age sign-ups. These signals indicate only a coarse age range, are used only to verify eligibility at the moment of sign-up, and are not stored.
• United States (COPPA): We additionally do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn that we have, we will delete it. A parent or guardian who believes their child has provided us information may contact contact@tokjam.net to request review and deletion.
• California minors: If you are a California resident under 18 and a registered user, you may request removal of content you have publicly posted on the Service by contacting contact@tokjam.net (California Business & Professions Code § 22581). Removal may not be complete or comprehensive in all cases as permitted by law.
• Australia: Consistent with Australian law, the Service is not available to users under 16, and we take reasonable steps to prevent under-16 accounts.
• EU/EEA & UK and other regions: Where local law sets a higher age threshold or requires parental or guardian consent, we apply that requirement.
• Minor accounts (16–17): For registered users we identify as minors (at least 16 but under 18, based on the date of birth provided at registration), we set the account to private by default and keep it private while the user is a minor. We do not use minors' personal information for profiling-based or targeted advertising, and our content recommendations are not based on profiling of minors.
If you believe a person under the applicable minimum age has provided us personal information contrary to this policy, contact us and we will take appropriate action.
11. EU/EEA & UK Residents (GDPR / UK GDPR)
This section adds to the common sections for individuals in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, and Switzerland.
11.1 Controller. Tokjam (sole proprietor: AN HYEON KI / 안현기, Republic of Korea) is the controller of your personal data. You may contact us about privacy at contact@tokjam.net.
Representative
We value your privacy and your rights as a data subject and have therefore appointed Prighter Group with its local partners as our privacy representative and your point of contact for the following regions:
• European Union (EU)
• United Kingdom (UK)
Prighter gives you an easy way to exercise your privacy-related rights (e.g. requests to access or erase personal data). If you want to contact us via our representative, Prighter or make use of your data subject rights, please visit the following website:
https://app.prighter.com/portal/16133838727
11.2 Legal bases. We process personal data on the following bases:
| Purpose | Legal basis |
|---|
| Providing the Service / your Account | Performance of a contract (Art. 6(1)(b)) |
| Security, fraud prevention, service improvement, and content recommendations | Legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f)) |
| Legal/compliance retention and responding to legal requests | Legal obligation (Art. 6(1)(c)) |
11.3 Your rights. You have the rights to access, rectify, erase ("right to be forgotten"), restrict, and object to processing; to data portability; and to withdraw consent at any time (without affecting prior processing). To exercise these, contact contact@tokjam.net.
Exercise your data subject rights under GDPR
We provide you with an easy way to submit us privacy related request like a request to access or erase your personal data. If you want to make use of your data subject rights, please visit the following website: https://app.prighter.com/dsr/16133838727
11.4 International transfers. Transfers of personal data from the EEA to the Republic of Korea (where we operate) are covered by the European Commission's adequacy decision for Korea (2021), so they benefit from recognized protections without additional safeguards. Our storage and database infrastructure is likewise located in the Republic of Korea (Seoul) region. For the limited data transferred to the United States (transactional email, push notifications, and in-app purchase verification) and for any remote access from outside Korea by our providers for technical support, we use appropriate safeguards such as the EU Standard Contractual Clauses and the UK International Data Transfer Addendum (see Section 6).
11.5 Complaints. You have the right to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority (data protection authority). We would appreciate the chance to address your concerns first at contact@tokjam.net.
11.6 Automated decision-making. We use recommendation systems to personalize the content you see. We do not make decisions producing legal or similarly significant effects about you based solely on automated processing. Where we rely on legitimate interests, you may object to such processing, including related profiling, as described above.
12. California Residents (CCPA / CPRA)
This section adds to the common sections for California residents.
12.1 Categories collected. In the past 12 months we may have collected the following categories of personal information (as defined by the CCPA/CPRA): identifiers (e.g., email, device identifiers); internet or other electronic network activity (usage and interaction data); audio/visual information (the content you upload); and commercial information (transaction records). Sources and purposes are described in Sections 2–3.
12.2 "Sale" / "Sharing". We do not currently sell your personal information and do not currently share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, as those terms are defined under California law, and we do not currently serve advertising in the Service. If this changes in the future (for example, if we introduce advertising), we will update this policy and provide the opt-out mechanisms described in Section 12.5, including a "Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information" / "Your Privacy Choices" control and honoring opt-out preference signals such as Global Privacy Control.
12.3 Sensitive personal information. We do not use or disclose sensitive personal information for purposes that require a right to limit under the CPRA; if this changes, we will provide the required "Limit the Use of My Sensitive Personal Information" choice.
12.4 Your rights. California residents have the rights to: know/access the personal information we collect and how we use and disclose it; correct inaccurate information; delete personal information (subject to exceptions); and opt out of sale/sharing. We will not discriminate against you for exercising these rights.
12.5 How to exercise. Submit a request at contact@tokjam.net. Because we do not sell or share personal information, there is no sale or sharing for you to opt out of; if this ever changes, we will provide a "Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information" / "Your Privacy Choices" control and honor opt-out preference signals (such as Global Privacy Control). We will verify your request, and you may use an authorized agent with proper authorization.
13. Other U.S. State Privacy Rights
If you reside in a U.S. state with a comprehensive consumer privacy law (such as Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Utah, Texas, Oregon, Montana, and others as they take effect), you may have rights similar to those in Section 12, including the rights to confirm whether we process your personal data; to access, correct, and delete it; to obtain a portable copy; and to opt out of targeted advertising, the "sale" of personal data, and certain profiling (note that we do not currently sell or share personal data or serve targeted advertising). To exercise these rights, contact contact@tokjam.net. Where your state provides an appeal process, you may appeal our decision by replying to our response; if we deny your appeal, you may contact your state attorney general.
14. Other Regions (Global)
We make the Service available worldwide. Depending on where you live, you may have rights under your local data-protection law, including (without limitation):
• United Kingdom & Switzerland: rights equivalent to those in Section 11.
• Canada (including Quebec): rights of access and correction and the ability to withdraw consent under PIPEDA and Quebec's Law 25.
• Brazil (LGPD): rights of confirmation, access, correction, anonymization, portability, deletion, and information about data sharing.
• Australia, Japan (APPI), India (DPDP Act), South Africa (POPIA), Turkey (KVKK), and other jurisdictions: rights of access, correction, deletion, suspension of processing, withdrawal of consent, and any other rights provided by your local law.
Wherever you are, you can exercise the core rights of access, correction, and deletion by contacting contact@tokjam.net, and we will respond as required by applicable law. Our storage and database run in the Republic of Korea (Seoul) region; when we transfer your personal data internationally (to the United States for transactional email, push notifications, and in-app purchase verification, and where our providers access the infrastructure from outside Korea for technical support), we use appropriate safeguards as described in Section 6.
15. Republic of Korea (PIPA)
This section adds to the common sections for users in the Republic of Korea and is provided under the Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA, 개인정보 보호법), including Article 30. Where it conflicts with the common section, this section controls for Korean residents.
15.1 Personal Information Protection Officer. Under PIPA Article 31, we designate the following officer, who is responsible for handling personal information and for receiving inquiries, complaints, and relief requests:
• Officer: AN HYEON KI (안현기), Representative (대표)
• Email: contact@tokjam.net
• Telephone: +82 10-6773-5612
You may direct any privacy-related inquiry, complaint, or relief request to the officer above, and we will respond without delay.
15.2 Items collected, purpose, and retention. Consistent with PIPA, we collect the minimum personal information necessary to provide the Service, with your consent, as follows:
| Category | Purpose | Items | Retention |
|---|
| Required | Sign-up and account management, user identification, prevention of fraudulent or unauthorized use, confirmation of intent to register | Email, password | Until the purpose is achieved or the account is closed |
| Required | Age verification and enforcement of the minimum age requirement | Date of birth | Until the purpose is achieved or the account is closed |
| Required | Additional age verification at sign-up (detecting under-age sign-ups) | Operating-system age signal (Apple Declared Age Range / Google Play age signals) — coarse age range only | Not stored; processed only momentarily at sign-up and immediately discarded |
| Required | Verifying that a reporter holds legitimate rights in a copyright-infringement report | Name, email, mobile phone number, copyright registration details, licensing/authorization records | Until the purpose is achieved |
| Required | Verifying that a reported party holds legitimate rights in a copyright-infringement report | Name, email, mobile phone number, copyright registration details, licensing/authorization records | Until the purpose is achieved |
| Required | Processing paid or subscription purchases and managing transaction and refund records | App store transaction identifier (order ID), subscription status, and payment date/time | 5 years under the Act on the Consumer Protection in Electronic Commerce, etc. |
15.3 Statutory retention. Where the following laws require retention, we keep the relevant records for the periods stated, then destroy them:
| Law | Records | Period |
|---|
| Act on the Consumer Protection in Electronic Commerce, etc. (Enforcement Decree Art. 6) | Records on contracts or withdrawal of subscription | 5 years |
| Same | Records on payment and the supply of goods | 5 years |
| Same | Records on consumer complaints or dispute resolution | 3 years |
| Same | Records on labeling/advertising | 6 months |
| Protection of Communications Secrets Act (Enforcement Decree Art. 41) | Service access logs | 3 months |
15.4 Provision to third parties. We process your personal information only within the purposes stated above and provide it to third parties only with your consent or where permitted under PIPA Articles 17 and 18; otherwise we do not provide your personal information to third parties.
15.5 Entrustment of processing (위탁). In addition to Section 6, and consistent with PIPA Article 26, we entrust personal-information processing as follows:
| Entrustee | Entrusted work |
|---|
| Amazon Web Services, Inc. (AWS) | Storage of videos/photos, video transcoding, and automated content analysis/moderation |
| MongoDB, Inc. | Storage and protection of user personal data |
| Google LLC (Gmail / Google Workspace) | Sending transactional and account-related emails (e.g., password resets) |
| Expo (650 Industries, Inc.) | Push notification delivery |
| RevenueCat, Inc. | Verifying in-app purchases and managing subscription status |
Overseas transfer of personal information (국외이전). Our AWS and MongoDB Atlas infrastructure runs in the Republic of Korea (Seoul, ap-northeast-2) region, so account data and uploaded videos/photos are stored in the Republic of Korea. Consistent with PIPA Articles 28-8 and 28-9, we disclose the following overseas transfers and the possibility of access from outside Korea:
| Recipient | Country | Items transferred | Purpose | When & how transferred | Retention |
|---|

You may refuse the overseas transfer of your personal information; however, because these transfers are essential to providing the Service, refusal may make it impossible to use the Service or parts of it. We apply the safeguards described in Sections 6 and 8 to all overseas transfers.
15.6 Destruction of personal information. When personal information becomes unnecessary — because the retention period has elapsed, the purpose has been achieved, or the account is closed — we destroy it without undue delay. When you request deletion, we review and process the request within 10 days of receipt, after which the data is fully destroyed from our storage, except where other law requires continued retention. Electronic files are destroyed using technical means that prevent their recovery, and printed records are shredded or incinerated.
15.7 Rights of data subjects and how to exercise them. You may request to access, correct, or delete your personal information, to suspend its processing, and to withdraw your consent, subject to the exceptions permitted by PIPA. You may exercise these rights through a legal representative or an authorized agent, who must submit a power of attorney in a form we designate (for example, by email). Submit requests to contact@tokjam.net.
15.8 Automatic collection and cookies. In addition to the items in Section 15.2, the Tokjam Service (app and website) automatically collects and generates the following while you use it: device information (device model, operating system, unique device identifier, app version, language settings), access information (access logs), and service usage records (content viewed/saved/interacted with, search terms, feature usage). These are used to operate and secure the Service, prevent fraud and abuse, and analyze and improve performance. We also use one essential session cookie (to keep you signed in) together with limited device identifiers and browser cookies needed to operate the Service.
We currently do not use Google Analytics or any third-party analytics or advertising SDK in the app or on the website, do not serve advertising, and do not perform behavioral tracking for advertising purposes. If in the future we introduce advertising or third-party analytics, we will revise this Privacy Policy and provide advance notice, and where required by law we will obtain your prior consent, before doing so.
15.9 Security measures. Under PIPA Article 29, we take: administrative measures (minimizing the number of personnel with access, internal management planning, and regular staff training); technical measures (access-rights management for processing systems, installation of access-control systems, and encryption of unique identifiers and stored data); and physical measures (access control to storage areas and locked storage of media containing personal information).
15.10 Right to request access; administrative appeal. You may request access to your personal information under PIPA Article 35. Under PIPA Articles 35–37, a person whose rights or interests are infringed by a public authority's disposition or omission may file an administrative appeal under the Administrative Appeals Act (Central Administrative Appeals Commission — 110, www.simpan.go.kr).
15.11 Remedies for infringement of rights. The following bodies, which are independent of Tokjam, provide dispute mediation, reporting, and counseling regarding personal information. Contact them if you are not satisfied with our own handling or need further assistance:

15.12 Changes to this policy (Korea). Notwithstanding Section 17, when we amend this Privacy Policy with respect to Korean users, we will announce the amendment through the Service, and the amended policy takes effect 7 days after the announcement.
16. Language (Controlling Version)
This Privacy Policy is drafted in English, which is the controlling and governing language. Translations may be provided for convenience. In the event of any conflict between the English version and a translated version, the English version prevails.
17. Changes & Contact
